When a trademark is used in a confusingly similar manner, it may be considered trademark infringement. However, please note that a trademark does not give you the sole and exclusive right to use that trademark in every context.
For example, a website using the name of your business in the context of reviewing your products or even criticizing your brand is NOT infringing your trademark.
Please consult your own legal counsel or refer to Chilling Effect’s FAQs about Trademark for more information.
If you believe that your trademark has been infringed upon, please:
- Verify that the website in question is hosted by DevSpace Hosting. We only host websites that have “devspace.hosting” in their URL or have a DevSpace Hosting logo on the administrative login page. You can check this by appending “/wp-admin/” after the domain. For example, “https://example.com/wp-admin/“.
- Contact the user directly. Go to the website in question and leave a comment with your complaint to see if the matter can be resolved directly between you and the user .
If the issue cannot be resolved directly with the user, please submit your complaint via the form below. Our team will review it and take action as appropriate if we consider the use of your trademark to be infringing. Please refer to our trademark infringement support guide for information on how we process your complaint.
If you’re a user and believe that we have wrongfully terminated your site for trademark infringement, please contact us at [email protected] with any information you think we should know so that we may reevaluate the claim of infringement.
Your Infringement Notice will be forwarded to the party that made the content available or to third parties such as ChillingEffects.org.
